euro spec 316i

Hey guys i have a euro spec 88' 316i with the m40 setup. I usually use the same parts from the 91' 318i to be compatible with mine. I asked BAVauto and they werent sure if the suspension would be the same for my 316i. I am wondering if anybody knows if the same setup will work in my 316i as it would in a 318i. Im looking at Bilstein shocks with the bav springs. Any help would be appreciated.

What year is the 316? If its 85 or later, all your suspension parts will swap over no problem.

As far as I know the e30 318i US specs has the M42 engine , they never got the M40 engine
meaning while the front shock struts for the 316i is 45 mm, not 51 mm as the M42

He clearly mentioned that he has a Euro spec car.

RealOEM is showing both options for the car so I think you're going to have to check your actual car.
