    Installing stock springs HELP!

So I am crazy enough to remove the current Bavarian Motorsport lowering springs from my 318iS.

So far the project has gone well except! The top 19mm bolt that holds the strut and spring in place wont come undone!!!

    1. I tried compressing the springs and loosen the bolt with the assembly out of the car. Did not help the whole Assembly moves.

    2. I also lowered the car back on the ground and only loosen that bolt. Bolt still wont move.

    3. WD-40 does nothing

    4. Even used a Impact driver and still the bolt wont move

    Possible options left?

    1. Heat gun: Heat the bolt
    2. Air compressor: air torque wrench (hire Monroe muffler to help)

    Running out of patience here......

Hmm.. Is the shock twisting when trying to take off the nut..? I'm a little confused. Heat torch works for me.

when installed on the car with the full weight on the wheels the nut should come off. if not then the shaft is rotating.

does the shaft have a allen/hex head at the top? may need to use a special curved box wrench-while using a Allen/hex key to keep the shaft in place

Can't even see the shock its still, the spring is the only thing that rotates as I attempt to unscrew the 19mm bolt

I lowered the car on all 3's and bolt didn't move only the spring did.

(YES) "does the shaft have a allen/hex head at the top?" A male allen head Pictures tomorrow.

get some vice grips , double fold a shop towel , clamp down on the strut , then take off bolt.

Why in the 1st place are you putting on stock springs?

Cars raised to stock height!!! Took the front spring assembly to a shop they broke the bolt loose with a air gun. Backs were easy. We are winter ready!!! Still a very still car with the Bilstein shocks in it I am surprised it still feels good. Had to take it for a test drive!!

This will be my winter daily driver thats why it is stock height now

FOR SALE: Bavarian Autosport Performance Springs - Set of 4 Part Number: SK E304 016
Retail NEW @ $224.95 Taking offers for now.

                  Quick Description from their website:

Lower your BMW without sacrificing comfort. We had a tough time finding lowering springs that gave us both the improved handling we craved and the ride comfort we wanted. So we developed our own springs! They're made specifically for drivers who want the aggressive look and better handling of lowering springs, but not the harsh ride associated with most sport springs. They'll lower your BMW an average of 30 mm (about 1 1/4''). Engineered and manufactured in Germany of cold-rolled silicon steel, they're finished with a durable powder coat in Bavarian Autosport red. Available only from Bavarian Autosport
