Need advice on rear strut top. Stripped mount :(

I am not ready to purchase new struts for the car but I have an issue...

The right rear strut top where the nut goes is stripped. Popped off while driving...

Has anyone run into this issue? Any fixes other than buying a new strut?

Side note. I have tried re threading it but there isn't enough left to really hold.

There's really no option other than replacing the shock. I was going to recommend rethreading the shock but since you already did, then I would say it needs to be replaced.

That happened to obeys car. We modified a set of RSMs to make the insert shorter so it would have more threads to grab on to. Something like these could be easily modified but you will loose suspension travel. Probably not worth fudging with unless they are bilsteins or konis.
