GC Coilovers or HR springs/Billy sport for Cabriolet?

I wanted to do suspension first on my 93' 325ci Cabrio first but had to buy kopi Alpina 17 " 4x100 rims from Abrahams first because of limited time offer.

Next is either buying ground control coilovers or HR race springs with billstein sport struts/shocks. I'm sure springs with billys ride better. Anybody have pictures of a cabrio with either set up? Plans in future are mtech II body kit, 24v swap, and rx-7 brake upgrades. I have seen pictures of coupes with set up but not cabrio's. Car might see the track some day but will be primarily a second vehicle and weekend toy. Any suggestions or pictures are appreciated. Thanks

I'm on H&R race right now and I'm upgrading to GC coils. I got these in a deal, but I don't see any reason to buy race/bilsteins over GC new. It's like $350 for race springs, then $500+ for Bilstein sports. GC street coilovers with Koni adjustables (much better than bilsteins) is a thousand bucks. I'd get the coils, make sure to get an X-brace since you have a vert.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Race springs and Billy's will not necessarily result in better ride quality. If you properly match shock valving and spring rates on the gc kit it will yield a much better ride than Billy's and hr race

I will research the x brace. There are so many different sets of gc coilovers. Any suggestions as to which is best? What is difference between street touring and complete kit?

I have used springs in past but never coilovers. How would I find out the proper match for valving and spring rate?

Call or email GC and they'll help you with specific questions like that. I believe that they'll adjust the Konis to your spring rates before shipping it to you. Comfort and performance damper-wise is not simply soft=comfort and stiff=performance. It's more of an issue of the dampers being correctly matched to your spring rates, which will then play a large factor in comfort and performance.

Seriously? I've been emailing Mark for the past few weeks, and just ordered today. His email was just under the contact section of the website. He's also a member on here and may chime in at any minute.

Just ordered the GC Street Touring Kit. I have to say I am very impressed with Marks knowledge and great customer service. Walked me through everything and set me up with a coilover set that was custom for my plans for the vehicle. I cant wait to see the product! And even more cant wait to install it! Thanks Mark
