    broken e30 M3 spring

so this set of springs was only supposed to have @ 80k miles on them and that means now they have @130k.

and on the pass rear the bottom first 3/4 coil just broke off.

    is this to be expected?

what mileage can these last to?

torn between the easy fix and replacing all four.

    help please

    robert w.

I've never really heard of e30 springs breaking, but I've seen it once on an e46 with (I believe) 108k.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

springs are not suposed to break full stop. The cause of spring failer usually is not due to milage, more likely was from a place with hot summers and cold winters, bad wheel alignments that lead to bad vibrations, or driving around on blown shocks putting for strain on the springs. Even so it is uncommon for springs to break.
