Is that the washer that goes on top of the spring mount in the front? Number 8 in this picture?

Thanks for the diagram.. I'm wondering now if its part number 7?

This photo shows more curvature and depth to it

the grease on it also gives it away. it goes under the bearing and the bearing runs on it. you accually really need that part. it will result in failure of the bearing which could result in free play in the top mount and thus poor handling and wheel alignment.

it is not 7, it is infact 8. 7 has way more curvature. I remember seeing it when I pulled my suspension apart. It allows easy movement on turning.

7 protects the ball bearings from getting dirt in the grease.

You are the one millionth person to accidentally leave this out. It is so common, I put it in my R3V faq.

Picture number 10. (item # eight)

Clean everything, and make sure it is right side up. The factory pic is pretty good. The flat side is down, facing the top of the spring perch.

Oh man just redid my front suspension and was trying to troubleshoot my scary handling. This must be the issue. Thanks for posting this information.

This won't cause a "scary handling" issue. It's literally just a dust guard for the bearing.
