E30 steering help!!

    so the verdict is that the rear end could make your steering seem very non precise, squishy. you could say your steering wanders and deff unstable at high speeds?

      Yes, because worn out subsframe bushings make the subframe move/wiggle/collapse a little at speed....this makes car unstable at speed…and the driver has to engage in fight with steering to correct this unstable behavior.

        hmmm, sorry to further derail this thread.

        but when i finish turning in my car it does not want to return to straight, the steering would rather continue turning . you know what i mean? when you turn to the left the steering resists a little and naturally wants to come back to straight...not in my car. thoughts?

          I also had similar issue when I missed to install the top mount washer after I did my front shocks.
          With you, I'd guess that, it has likely to do something with front struts, like bad top mount bearings, missing washer at the strut bearing...may be even the main strut nut is too tight...
          Also, I've heard that the steering rack can be to tight and cause similar symptoms.
