    45 mm or 51 mm in my e30

    Hey Guys new to the E30 scene and about to buy some coils for it.

    specs:

    1989 318i , E30

    my question is what size strut i am i running 45mm or 51mm

    You are 51mm Louisito.
    1985 and before had 45mm

    1991 325iS turbo

        ^ I am in Australia, i have a 1989 318i and my mechanics measured mine up at 45mm. And my car is 2 owners before me and 100% stock.

        So mate i would double check before you order...

          Wait, two things are different that I didn't notice.
          Australia & an '89 318i. That's an m40 motor right? (not m42).

          We didn't get that here in the USA, and realoem says 45mm; Ant is right.

            just pull the wheel off and do a quick measurement of the strut tube (45 or 51mm OD). Can't hurt to double check so you don't end up ordering the wrong parts.

              Check. Both of my 318i came with 45mm struts but now (or soon will have) 51mm struts
