I autocross with no powersteering and absolutely nothing in the rack. I capped the lines with tubing just so that trash/dirt won't get into the rack.

I'm not a big guy... I mean I'm small as hell. I probably can't curl over 30lbs. I have no problem moving the wheel once it is up to speed(or even 1mph). Remove all the fluid from the rack and cap the lines, or use the loop you already have. The rack is internally lubricated so even if people told you that you should have fluid in the rack, they were lying. I have been running it without fluid for about 1.5 years now.

I think without powersteering the limit of grip is easier to feel. I have used r-comps (ao48s) and street tires(16" and 14") on this setup and I wouldn't change it, even if I got fatigued. I have gotten fatigued in the past, but it hasn't been a problem even on long trips.

I completely agree with the comments supporting increased feel and simplicity with the ps delete, but I personally found it cumbersome to auto-x. In reading some of the responses, I think I may not have relieved the system of all the fluid. I'm about to go with an E36 rack, so I will leave it empty and see how it feels.

I tried going w/o PS on my car with 225/50/15's, M3 CAB's, 95 M3 rack, small MTech 1 wheel. I just finished reinstalling it. I like being able to easily turn the wheel with one hand at low speeds if I want to.
