What you curious gentlemen are looking for... installed Racelands

Just the other day my racelands came in the mail. I have installed them but have had a few run arounds and haven't yet had the time to take pictures or anything because I am still working out some kinks. I had Rokkors on my e36 (sister company of racelands) and loved them. For those of you who don't like them because they are cheap or whatever the case is, don't hate on here. I'm not a race car driver, I am just looking for aesthetics :hitler: . Essentially, First I did the fronts being as sunlight was running out. I first had them adjusted about half way but eventually lowered the perch completely. Based off my experience with my old e36 and a buddy's e30 with JOM's, I figured the rears would not go as low so I installed them with no perches off the bat. Was I wrong. I was almost tucking the stock bottle caps (I raised it cause it was way too much negative rake). Once I saw this, I wanted more low in the front so I removed the front perches as well, however, now the spring doesn't seat properly in the front (it clunks on big bumps from not being properly seated at the bottom without the perches). After some research, I have ordered e90 top hats so that I can mount the perches again but maintain about the same drop as if they weren't on. I will keep you guys posted with pictures and more updates as the install comes to a finish. All in all from my previous and current experience, I recommend them for the price. They might not go as low as Ground Controls, but are half the price (being that the suggested shocks for GC are just as much as the entire Raceland setup). The ride is stiffer than stock without being a gut wrenching, kidney destroying, bounce house looking, civic like ride. Again, I have so far had a great experience with them and will post pictures once I get them dialed in how I want and find the time.

P.S. That is no longer my e30 in my sig. I was 16 and bought it with those horrid rims and had no money to do as I wished. Also, I havent been on the e30 forums in quite a long time. lol

Thank you for the review. I have nothing against RL, many of my e36 friends have them and i think they ride just fine.

Spring rates are on the website. They are rated at 375 front and 295 rear. I have yet to receive the top hats to finish the setup. I called my nearest dealer and they only had 1 in stock -_-. I am not sure why they wouldn't have them in pairs, but who knows? Anyways, it was supposed to arrive yesterday, but they are giving me the runaround and said it would come in today. Time will tell if this is true or not. Like a friend of mine said in another thread, they are essentially the reverse of JOM's. Apparently his front end has plenty of room to go lower, however his rear is maxed out with perches removed and the whole 9 yards. However, I am thinking of other ways to lower my front end a tad more and my rear is sunken in. Lol, as previously stated, once I get it all where I want it, I will find the time to upload some pictures.

295 on the rear is too soft imo. That divorced spring setup cuts any spring rate nearly in half.

Guess fine for a dd though.

Yea I think so too. My d2's are 330 all around and the rear should still be stiffer. At least around 450+

Yeah, for a daily driver it is fine. Although I'm sure the performance is better than stock, If someone is looking for a track setup, they might as well cough up the extra $ for a Ground Control setup or whatever the case. For $400 you cant really expect it to do the whole 9 yards. BTW, for those of you still waiting for pictures, sorry. Yesterday I got to install the drop hats with the perches and everything feels solid. The drop is about the same as before so overall I am impressed with the entire setup. Still havent gotten around to taking pictures but hopefully sometime soon.

The car on the bottom has racelands installed and the car on top has Joms. Both have no rear adjusters, and the car with racelands has the adjusters up front all the way down and are limited now by the stock perch.
