Please inform me! Megan coilovers? Anything you'd recommend?

Been doing my fair share of research on the euro street series by megan and was planning on getting them until a buddy pointed out that its not too often that people are competing with these.. Especially in drifting which is my motorsport of choice.

Does anyone have any recommendations as far as suspension set ups go for drifting?

Been looking into the jstock springs with the crazy spring rates lately and throwing some bilstein sports in there too. I've been told the bilstein sports don't need to be revalved to keep up with the roughly 650# fronts and about 1000# rears of jstocks, rather than buying the revalved billy sports from turner motorsports to jstock specs.

I also spoke with a formula drift driver by the name of Andy Hateley, a very knowledgable guy running a e30 for this 2013 season of fd. He told me he had j stocks on his first e30 along with the H&R cup kit prior to running the j stock kit. He said its ok but by no means comparable to jstocks.

Anyways, I'm just over looking all my options.

Any input is appreciated here guys. I'm just trying to learn a bit more about everything to choose the right set up.

    thanks in advance

You have the wrong mindset if you think the stiffest springs possible is what you want for drifting.

I run bc coils, basically same as Megan. Would I say they are good for a track car looking to get every bit out of things and is really competing? No, but for a track car looking to have fun or a drift car, they work just fine.

Imo I'd have ground control build you a kit. Bc works for me but if I did it again I'd go with gc, I plan on eventually switching over in the future. But for now these coils work good.

Will be doing my first track drift event soon, but they worked fine for hpde day last year and have been good for my parking lot drifting adventures.

I never said the stiffest was best. I just know there is a happy medium among front and rear that isn't super stiff or super soft. lol.

Been doing some research on roll center. (i believe thats what its called) and how spring rates differ from e30s unlike other common drift cars since the springs are mounted onboard unlike other drift cars.

Oh they do differ big time.

Find out what the pro e30 guys are running for drifting.

Btw Chelsea denofa runs bc coils on his e46...granted they're the more expensive type with the remote res.. But still, they are bc and people talk smack about Em. Work great for him.
