E30 no airbags steering rack swaps?

I've heard/seen e30s can take e36 racks. My 89' 325i has the original rack n pinion and as you can imagine, it's dominated.
Trying to find a cost effective rack upgrade. Since my car has no airbags is there no modification needed to slap in the e36 rack? Help on this would be much appreciated.

I think you have to remove the rubber flex disk in the shaft coupling and bolt the two pieces together. At least, thats what my room mate did in his metal bumper car. in my airbag 91 car, I didnt have to do that.

Also, you should put in spacers where the rack mounts, as the tabs are thinner on the e36 rack. I didnt the first time around, but once I get this motor out I will.
