battery ground in the way on strut brace

I bought a Hartge bar from an early model and there is no notch cut out of the plate on the passenger side. Im thinking about relocating it to the tray right next to it, but the small block of metal is attached to the top of the strut tower.


has anyone removed this successfully and painlessly?

Why not notch the strut bar?

i thought about that, but where it hits the plate is right where one of the bars is welded to the top, so it wont work =/

I removed the nut on mine. My Hartge bar is early also.

Did you have to cut/grind off the metal block on the top of your strut tower? If so how?

I used a dremel with a cutting blade. Then I used a screw driver to pop the bolt up to break welds. Then I used the grinder to get rid of welds. Hartge made a few different types of bars.

Great, ill give it a try once I get my dremel back from my friend.. Why do friends always steal dremels...

And mine is the one in the first picture.
