    Additional drop sans Drop Hats?

I'm installing Bilstein Sports and HR Sports on my 325i. I have read about the drop hats and don't want to mess with the issues that so many people have had with them.

What about spring pads? I know thinner pads are made, would these be a viable solution to get another 5-10mm of drop without compromising safety or the components?

Any pictures with guys running on thin or removed spring pads?

Plenty of people remove the spring pads entirely. Seems to work fine.

Ripped mine out last week when installing my camber plates. Haven't noticed anything compromising at all. The amount of drop achieved is not really noticeable. I say do drop hats and take out the pads. There are threads about drop hats and how to do them correctly so you don't get binds or grinds.

If anybody that is having issues with drophats, it's not as much an issue with the hats and much as the issue is the installer.

You can run no spring pads without issue.

Another option for an additional drop would be GC Touring camber plates. They give an additional 12mm since they have a shorter stack height. (I am using them). But of course this isn't exactly a cheap option.

There's always the option to cut 1/2 coil from the spring too. It sounds scary but it's not.

You are for real on the spring cutting?

I may get it all put together and see how it all looks before taking any measures to alter things too drastically.

I'm running vogtland springs, e90 drop hats and no spring pads in the front. Kept the pads in the rear just to give it some positive rake. I've had no issues without the front spring pads, but they are so thin I don't think it would make a noticeable height difference with them in or out.
