I want to replace my oh worn tube shocks and probably get springs too. What's the optimum after market set up for my car? A little lower stance would be nice, some say bilstein hd and h@r springs. I saw some nice koni sports too. Reccomendations?
Best set up for my ix

What are you wanting the car to do better?
What are you okay with the car doing worse?
What are you hoping won't change at all?

save your dough. go stock with Bilsteins. You won't be sorry... who cares about stance? It's an iX... My 2 centsComment

like the stance but agreed maybe all i need is the shocks. i do a lot of freeway driving. car feels good till i hit a big dip or bump. i know ix for ground clearance in snow. will the springs make a big difference?grskyr did you notice an improvement in handling?1989 325ix(sold)

The car had that set up when I bought it, so can't compare.
But next to the 3 other stock RWD I've driven, this one handles in a league above. I'm sure the combination of AWD and recent suspension makes a big change from stock. I do see the value of the stock height ix in deep snow. But since I don't take it in super deep snow, not an issue here. The trade-off is the slot-car like handling on the pavement."just love those little tanky inline 6's"Comment
