Dust Boot for Rear Bilstein Sports?

I just installed brand new Bilsteins in all corners of my e30 along with H&R race springs. The front had dust covers, but the rears didn't.

Am I suppose to use the OEM dust covers?

I don't have OEM shocks in the rear and the dust covers on the current rear shocks don't come off for me to transfer over to the Bilsteins.

    Thanks for your help.

I've never ran them. Although I think they should be included.

The stock dust covers have an important washer built in which works with part #6 to distribute pressure as wide and even as possible on the shock. You need them.

Mine also didn't come with coverings so I said YOLORACECAR and didn't run them. Now I'm reconsidering that. Does it make a difference if I'm using aftermarket (Poly Rouge Eng.) rear shock mounts?

They are needed to keep crap off the shafts, to reduce the chance of blowing the seals.

Are you also not using the big cupped washer that goes between the shock and the RSM? You should be using every part on the diagram except the bump stop which is optional and not to be used with Billy sports since they are built into the shock itself.

I don't think it should make a difference what mount you're using

^^^This is exactly why i'm questioning it. Especially since the front Bilsteins came with it, I figured the rear would as well, but thought maybe zee germans thought of something new yah in which the rear doesn't need it?
