    UUC Rear Sway Installation Issue...

So a while back I bought the UUC sway bar kit. The front went in as it seemed it was supposed to.

I tried installing the rear, but I've run into some issues. The reinforcement kit and mounts seemed to work just fine. I've got everything positioned correctly, holes lined up, and everything is almost ready for the final assembly.

My problem is with the bar itself. Both the stock bar and the UUC bar have a series of bends in the middle to allow the bar to go up over the differential. It seems as though the bends on the UUC bar are almost a bit too extreme, and put the middle of the bar too high in relation to the mounts. This causes the center of the bar (above where the diff would be) to contact the car (bottom of the trunk, between the sway mounts) when I try to swing the ends of the bar upwards to simulate the suspension being compressed. The bar will not approach horizontal. The highest I could get the ends of the bar is about a 30-degree downward pointing position when viewed from the side of the car. Having not fully assembled the back of the car, I can't know for certain that this won't work correctly, but it sure does look like it will need more travel than that if the rear suspension is to move freely.

Hopefully this makes sense, if not I can try to make some awful microsoft paint drawings to illustrate, but that seems like a bad idea. Haha.

In any case, I'm wondering a few things:

    - Does anyone else have the UUC rear sway? If so, did you experience this problem?

    - Any ideas for solving the issue? I'll be calling UUC tomorrow to see what ideas they might have.

So far, I can only see a couple of ways of solving the problem. Firstly, I could modify the shape of the sway. Basically try to reduce the angle of some of the bends that are causing this issue. I'm skeptical of doing this because it's unlikely that I could do it in a way that would keep the bar symmetrical, and I don't want to damage the bar by trying to beat it into submission. My only other idea is to use a hammer on the underside of my car to "make some more space" in the problem area. That's not something I'm willing to do at this point.

Moving the mounts downward is not something that is a possibility, as they utilize the threaded hole that the factory mount used.

    Help!

I have a UUC sway and I was able to install it, however I have noticed some creaking while loading or unloading the rear which may (or possibly may not) be related to this issue. I'll have to take a look when I pull the subframe next week.

I called UUC, and he seemed to think that either I have the bar in upside down, or they sent me the wrong bar. I'll check the general shape against the factory one the next time I'm at the shop.

I'm 99% that I don't have the bar in upside down. The bends in the middle of it allow for it to go OVER the diff, correct? Therefore they should be upwards, toward the top of the car. There would be no reason to have the bar bent downwards in the middle, as there's nothing that would require that sort of clearance.

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having a similar issue.
