I need a quick confirmation - e30 tie rods OR e36 tie rods can be used so long as the inner & outer tie rods match, correct? My 1991 318i (airbag car) is stuck at the alignment shop until I can get an answer. Thanks!

You can use E30 or E36 tie rods as long as the inner and outer tie rods match as well as the locking plates. E36 tie rods have a bit of extra (likely unnecessary) clearance for wheels and are a bit stronger, but E36 locking plates are also pricier.paint sucks -

Update - ended up using e30 tie rods, Beck-Arnley Part # 101-3761.1997 540i/6 - stock
