    e36 Rack Swap and Knuckle

    Hey Everyone,
I have a 86 325e. The steering knuckle has play and the rack has a leak.

I'm looking to upgrade to the e36 rack and am curious what I need to purchase. The non-airbag knuckle is ~$80 more expensive than an airbag one. Can I purchase the airbag one and fit it directly to the e36 rack?

Can someone confirm this is the rack I need.

I got a refurbed Z3 rack from Blunt for about the same price, and its only 2,7 turns.
Also, the knuckle modification really isn't difficult just getting it back in place is. And the link will tell you everything else you need to know.
I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

I'm totally capable of the knuckle modification. I would just like to save the $80 and buy the airbag one. Not having to modify it would just be a bonus.
