e36 m3 rack question

I have swapped my rack for a e36 m3. i was wondering if i need to use e36 tie rods or can i use my e30 tie rods.

e36 tie rods are beefier, but e30 tie rods will work

I heard you use e36 inner tie rods and e30 outers. Ive never actually done the swap though.
