BC Coilovers: How to lower rear properly?

    Hello everyone,

Firstly, forgive me for an idiotic question, I just do not want to screw anything up and I have searched but to no luck. I am trying to lower the rear of my e30; however, I am unsure of the correct procedure on how to go about it. Am i supposed to just lower by adjusting my spring collars to go lower and leave my shock collars alone? I only read from one thread that the shocks won't effect the height at all. The shocks only controls the shock travel. Or Am I to adjust both shock and spring?

I have lowered the spring adjusters all the way to the bottom but the drop was barely 15mm if that.

    I appreciate it fellas!

I am going to assume there is no spring on the rear shock?
But yes if you lowered the spring perches all the way down thats as low as they are going to. Unless you buy shorter springs and or thinner spring pads
All the low low kids just put hockey pucks in there for ultra super stooopid low.

I don't own BCs so I am just going off of theory but it's possible you are just bottoming out the shocks. Is there any room for compression when the car is on the ground? Make a reference of where the shocks are now, and then shorten them a significant amount and see if that makes a difference. If it gets lower and rides better then you should try to set the shock around the middle of its travel at static ride height on a flat surface (this may be a good idea regardless).

Adjust the shocks so there is just a slight pre load on the spring.

I run no spring adjusters or pads on my bc's for what I do the ride height is perfect.

This gent is on the money. I still have my adjusters in with no pads though.
