Thinking of changing my shocks. Need help

What's up guys. My current set up right now is H&R lowering springs with Bilstein shocks. My e30 is a daily. I'm stationed in 29 palms but I drive down to San Diego every other weekend. Honestly, it's a bit more on the stiff side and I'm looking for a somewhat more smoother ride. Any suggestions on what kind of shocks to use? btw these springs sit pretty low for just springs

Switching to Koni SA shocks should help, but the major cause of the stiffness will be the springs. Which H&R springs are on the car (Sport, OE Sport, or Race)?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      H&R with Koni's

I had Eibach pros with Bilstien sports on my vert and I really didn't like the ride, way to harsh for me on our poor Montreal roads. I recently installed H&R convertible specific springs with the Koni's set on the softest setting and I have to say it's a big improvement. It's still very firm but the harshness is gone.
