    Firming up the rear

Hey guys. I recently upgraded from my 14" weaves to 16x8" style 5's, mounted using 18 and 20 mm spacers.

After doing so, I rolled front fenders, and did my rears about halfway.

I am faced with a new problem - no one can sit in the backseat, nor can I put any of my bigger stuff in the trunk. It rubs horribly.

I however have no problem with rubbing in the front at all.

    My current suspension is:

    -Eibach pro-kit springs
    -Bilstein Sport struts
-Bilstein Touring shocks (100k+ miles on them)
    -e90 drop hats in front

    I'm a student on a tight budget.
Would you guys reccomend I replace all 4 springs to something with firmer rates, or just replace my shocks? My aunt had replaced the shocks long before I bought the car, but after I initially lowered the car, the struts were completely blown so I only replaced them.

    Would appreciate some advice.
I wanna be able to use the versatility of my 4 door again. :(

    Thanks!

Definitely get stiffer springs because Pro Kits are as soft as stock springs. And I think camaro shocks is the thing to do now? Or fox body?

Wait - are you saying it rubs against the inside, or against the fender?

If it's just the fender, and you are sitting too low with people in the back, changing out to fresh shocks isn't going to fix your problem. Your springs in the back are too low/soft.

Just jack up the rear of the car and pop in your old springs for the time being.

Put the 20mm in front and 18mm in the rear.
The poke shouldn't be that bad. I had to do this temporarily while I was getting my fenders and springs situated.

Those tires are slightly smaller in diameter and the same width as the 205/55 tires that I have on my 15x7 TR wheels (25mm offset). I suspect that that the problem here is that the wheels are pushed out too far. Thinner spacers might be the solution.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

they arent spacers, they are adapters. and 18mm is the smallest available. Just get some stiffer springs. stiffest spring readily available is H&R race without going coilover. now i know somebody is going to say J-stock, but those absolutely cannot be run with off the shelf shocks/struts, and for that money you can get coilover setup.

EDIT: one issue with H&R race is that the rear will be quite low. to remedy this i have e32 rear spring pads on mine which are 15mm thick. also i am running GC spec e30 plates on the front with lower the front 15mm. that was the only way to level out the stance that the H&R race has on e30's.

I have the same wheel/tire/adapter set up on my coupe with vogtland springs and I had to keep the spring pads in or it would rub with even just 1 passenger. Also, im have Camaro rear shocks and they ride good. No rub now with both spring pads in the rear.

You can run Camaro shocks to stiffen it up. You cal also run shocks from a Ford E350 1 ton van. Only downside is since they are long stroke, they would be half compressed all the time and would blow in about a year or 2.
