Sping sitting in tower not compressed Jstock

So I got my shocks back from Bilstein for custom re-valving for J-Stock springs.

Once mounted, the spring has over an inch before it touches the top mount when it is unloaded..

This doesn't seem right.. Every time I would lift my car, the spring would be loose in the tower and un-sit?

Is this right? Or did they incorrectly re-valve my shocks?

I'm assuming it wasn't that way before you sent the shocks to Bilstein? The change in valving wouldn't affect the length, so I'm thinking they forgot to put in the droop limiters when they were reassembling the shock. I would talk to someone at Bilstein and tell them what happened.

That is what happens when using H&R race or J-Stock springs.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I never tried to install these springs or these shocks.. The towers had vogtland springs and they were slightly compressed..

So when you lift the car to work under it, do you have to correctly sit the spring every time? What if you hit a "jump" where most of the weight is lifted off the front of the car, the springs will go out of place?

This is 100% correct. The spring is short therefore not making up enough length to hit the top hat.

Yes, you will have to seat the spring every time the car is in the air.

If you hit a "jump" and fully extend the suspension this much.....you have other things to worry about.....:cough: oil pan :cough: :)

J-Stock are ridiculously stiff, to compensate for ride height they have to be that short, so yes that's correct, though you already have your answer.
