e36 steering rack, is this right?

So I got an E36 steering rack to swap on my E30, and I noticed the ends look different. The end on the drivers side where the steering knuckle goes on goes deeper the end on the passenger side. Is that how its supposed to be or is it missing a seal?

If you are talking about the depth of the threads there is plenty of room for your inner tie rods and thats all that matters. Make sure your lock tabs are secure.
