    raceland coilivers

Just wanted to see what people honestly think of these set up. I'm not looking to track my car at all, I know evey page about these people seem to say don't buy, get GC coilovers. I'm not looking to buy 1500 dollar coilovers. I just want to lower it and have a good looking car. I have no need to race nor need to have a stiff drive when all I do is drive to work everyday and run around town. I already have put to much money in the car and new paint, wheels, head work and the Miller prostreet induction kit. Only thing I need to do to make my car perfect is to lower it. So please I don't want to hear the same thing. I just want true opinions.

i say sell me your induction kit and grab gc's. lol, but honestly i heard it doesnt really slam in the front. i have joms, its built the same as racelands, and its alright. its good enough for a daily, dont worry bout getting gcs if you aint tracking it.

If you're not going to the track you have no need for coilovers. Coilovers exist so you can set ride height and adjust cross balance for optimum track performance. Get some decent lowering springs and shocks that are matched to the spring rates and you will have a much better handling car. It's a set it and forget it approach that will have much better results then cheap coilovers.

Lol, of course I'm right! Kidding, but in all seriousness I've had just about every suspension option for an E30 save for the cheap coilovers and I speak from experience. I have coilovers on my track car but they are a true rear coilover/spherical bearing setup for the track and only the track. I can out-handle everyone else but the street ride is terrible. Just get an H&R/Bilstein kit and feel confident in knowing you have some of the best valued suspension out there. It's low, works well and won't require hours at a race shop to setup properly.

What kinda of drop do you think well look good. My wheels and tires are 205/50r15, the h&r keys drop is 1.6 in the front and 1.4 in the back. The car is stock height. And it seems to me that it won't drop the front were I think it should. The front has a huge space between the wheels and fender .

I had a set of Racelands on a Miata and they weren't terrible. Little firmer than stock, great for a DD but nothing I'd really want to use for any sort of racing.

How low are you wanting to go? Look through some pictures of people who have done various suspension setups to get ideas. If you go too much lower in the front then you will also want to budget in a skidplate (if you haven't already).

Decent c/os that go low for everyday driving. My friend had it on his e36 and I loved the ride. It was comfortable. I would say the lifespan is about 2-3 years on the shocks depending on your road conditions and how hard you drive on them

The H&R drop is quite a bit more than advertised, do some searching here for others with the same setup.

The springs and adjusters on Raceland are decent enough quality, but the shocks+ struts are absolute trash.

i had racelands, they were okay i guess for the price, but they werent any lower than bavauto's sport springs and the shocks sucked. i can say i wont go that route a second time.
