Building a coilover kit (need opinions on if it will work)

So I have a 1991 318i that im trying to build a coil over kit for. Im thinking about piecing the whole kit together. Im going to cut 2 inches out of my strut housings as well and run ix struts in the front.

I want to buy this kit

Buy these camber plates for the front https://www.cosmoracing.com/productinfo.asp?pid=2085

Then buy some lightly used or go with brand new Billy HD front struts

Plus for the perches ill fab up my own resting spot for the aluminum purches.

I read a review on here with someone saying they went from ground controls to this set up. They said it wasn't bad but you can tell the difference. I think its because it the coil over kit the springs arnt the greatest. But if there that bad i can always get different springs. Plus with both of his set ups he never cut the 2 inches out of his strut housings. (at least he didn't say he did).

Let me know what you think.

I might just get the GC kit with springs for $400. http://www.ground-control-store.com/...hp/II=902/CA=8

Saves money in the long run to get better springs up front.

I think you might be talking about me. I currently have Cosmo coilovers with bilstein sports in stock length housings and used to have the GC kit with adjustable Konis with the fronts shortened.

The ground controls rode quite a bit better than the cosmos. I'd like to change them out for a GC or AST setup at some point but it's not a high priority.

Cosmo offers two spring rate options and I went with the stiffer of the two, I think it was 10k front/12k rear.

You shouldn't have any issue putting that setup together, the only issue was I needed a spacer to get the front upper spring perch to clear the camber plates and allow some movement.

Yes you were the one I referring to! Have any idea how I can get this spacer made?

You could probably just use washers. It's also possible that it would be included now because it really should be.
