Shortened strut housing length question

I'm going to be running g60 struts. My question is should I cut 2 inches out of the housings or can I cut 2 and 1/2?

I have g60 shocks in my strut housings with 2 inches cut out. I needed a 1 inch spacer in the bottom. If you cut 2.5 inches you would only need a .5 inch spacer. I would cut 2 inches though. You can get plenty low with that much cut. Here's a couple pics I took today. Front has 16x8 wheels, 6 inch springs and is 1/3 way down the adjuster sleeve.
