    I've ran in my own cars: z3, z4, e46m, e36m.

for a powered rack I prefer the e46m ; more angle than the z3.
Would you recommend the e46m rack as a better option for an e30? If so which one off rackdoctor?

I've got an e36 rack with no p/s. Literally the one of the best E30 mods out there imo. It really sharpens up the driving experience.

Z3 rack: you want the version for the 1.9L if you want the rack with the shortest # of turns lock to lock.

I believe the 6cyl z3 rack is no different than the standard e36 rack.

Got my e36 rack with tie rods from an "auto recycler" for a 100 bucks with a warranty. spent about another hundred bucks replacing the reservoir and hoses connected to the P/S reservoir, along with spacers for the rack. You may need to bend one of the P/S hard lines to get it to fit on to the new rack. The worst part of the entire process was releasing the steering knuckle, totally worth it though. In addition you can run E36 tie rods on an E30, but it needs to be the full set, inners and outers. So you either put E30 inners and outers on your new rack or E36 inners and outers on the new rack. E36 tie rods are about 4mm beefier
