I was wondering what spring rate I should order for the convertible...I'm using KYB struts. I'm looking for a stiffer ride but not a race car stiffness lol I have a G35 coupe and that seems to feel good enough for me. I called GC but the guy that answered was an asshat. Any recommendations?

So you're looking at purchasing linear springs for the vert? Are you converting to coilover s or is it just what you want, instead of the honeycomb design?
I have had a 6" tall, 650lb spring in the rear, without an adjuster but, then moved into a 5" 800lbs rate with adjuster set to the lowest setting for the lows on my 325is. The car is a little stiff but not to the point of being annoying or harsh. I also have KONI adjustable dampners.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:D

I'm sorry you feel the salesman was an "asshat".
You called and requested a "stance" kit. At which point the sales rep replied that "we do not specialize in stance platforms" and suggested, perhaps, another company that specialized in stance would be a better choice.
You were requesting a basic coilover kit, which won't come close to what is considered stance nowadays.
Ground Control is performance oriented. We build systems with handling first. In our arena, asthetics is secondary.
Yes, many have used our systems to "get real low", but that requires major modification of the struts, which is available with our complete systems.
The fact that you began to curse while speaking with him was definitely not helpful.
If you would have spoken with me, you would have gotten the same answer...just in a sexier voice.
If you do a search for me. You will find I have spent time with many of our members helping them design what they need ...with no sales pitch.
We're all car guys. If you call and get an attitude, it may be a reflection of your demeanor. I love to help, but not when someone is cussing and reflecting me as an asshat.

I'm gonna side with Mark on this one over some guy with 6 posts who's name starts with Kid. But I run 425/750 on my m42 vert with about 49/51 F/R weight balance. You'd need stiffer fronts for an m20.The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Lol first of all I never said one thing about being "stanced" or lowered during my phone call. I asked what were common spring rates for an e30 convertible. The reply was "Idk man it's your car..." Lol wtf. I said I understood that but what is recommended for my car. I never once said I wanted it to ride like one of my other cars I posted that here never once mentioned it during my call. There's lots of ways this call could have gone but no I get some guy that sounded 20 telling me he doesn't own one so he doesn't know so do my research. How am I going to call customer service and get an incompetent response like idk man it's your car. I've done my research and my call was for some real assistance not this dick head telling me " you should do some research before you call". Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with your infinite knowledge and willingness to help paying customers. And for the raceland comment GG got me there applaud yourself for the massive burn you threw my way.
You must have had a different customer upset at your "customer service" but that clearly wasn't me lol i actually don't blame them for cussing either lol I just said thanks for your help and hung up. But I'm glad some one else felt the same way or at least you went out of your way to make up a story to do some PR work :hitler: since customer service wasn't part of the job description.

I'm sorry you feel that way.
Every story has two sides, and you weren't speaking to me so I can't quote verbatim.
I assure you. If I had heard any one of those comments by one of my salesmen it would be addressed.
In fact, I will re-visit the situation with him, and make sure, if less than professional responses were given, it won't happen again.
If you would still like assistance, or simply to ask questions, please call and ask for me personally.
