    Problems with Alignment

    Hi family,
I'm finally putting my car back together after a wreck, and I have a question regarding alignment and components of the front subframe. I replaced the control arms which were obviously bent, and I was able to drive it home from the shop. However, there must be more that was messed up. Does anyone know of anything else I should check to be broken that would mess up my alignment and make the car limp when it drives? The accident was primarily impact, and I don't want to get it aligned until everything else is fixed.
    Thanks,

You could have bent tie rods. If the car has a good bit of mileage on it (say +150k) it probably needs new tie rods, just from wear. Other possibilities are bent strut housings, damaged shock towers, or frame damage. You won't know if any of those have happened until you get the front end aligned.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
