IE steering coupler question.

I've got a non airbag car. This doesn't seem to fit too well. the reason it's not flush is this post in the coupler

Do I grind the bottom part of this off to have it sit flush?

Either that or chamfer the hole a bit to clear. You could probably just tighten the bolts down and "form" the bushing to it.
