First, I am a complete idiot with suspension, and my searches that turned up few results just prove that.
So, I have put an S52 in my 87 325is, and then I installed Bilstein Sports with H&R sport springs from Turner on just the front (My rears are sitting waiting to be installed). Its notably lower, as I expected, but it seems too low. My exhaust is from an E36 M3. Long tube headers run to the E36 Midsection to an aftermarket E36 catback. It scrapes on my gravel, it scrapes on rough patches in the road, it hits on low spots in the road, etc. I'm used to driving a jeep grand cherokee, so I obviously am not used to riding lower yet, but Is this how its going to be for good? I have not installed the rears yet because I dont want to lower the rear any more and completely rip my exhaust out. It looks to be hung as tight as possible to the body. If this is how its going to be for good, I think im going to sell the shocks and springs and go back to stock or get some stiffer stock height springs.
Next solution. Am I able to fit bigger wheels to fix my ride height problem? I know the speedo will be off, but I dont care about a couple of percent here or there.
Sorry for being such a suspension idiot. Thanks for any insight, or any resources that will help. I just dont want to be buying oilpan after oilpan over this.
