Shock/strut problem please help!
Hit it with pb blaster then throw it in a tripod vice and hit it with a 36'' pipe wrench. It's what I did. Mine hadn't been touched in 25 years and were rusted to hell. I didn't let the blaster soak or anything just sprayed and twisted with the wrench took all of 10 seconds for each.Leave a comment:

I had this same issue two days ago. I gave it some pb blaster to soak in and went out and bought a very large pair of channel lock pliers and a 24" monkey wrench. Channel locks on the strut, monkey wrench on the collar nut. Lots of effort and it came off in about 15 seconds.Leave a comment:

Try some type of penetrant like PB Blaster then give it lots of heat. Then try the pipe wrench. It can be frustrating.Leave a comment:

Nothing worked, taking the assemblies to a shop tomorrow.

Strut in a vice, two screwdrivers or long bolts in two of the holes and a long screwdriver wedged between the two screwdrivers or bolts? Or cold chisel and hammerLeave a comment:

Try a pipe wrench on the outside edge if you don't have the spanner wrench for itLeave a comment:

Shock/strut problem please help!
Okay so I took the spring off the front struts, then saw this. There is a little metal shock retaining collar that I can't get off. Any help is greatly appreciated!
