Hey r3v, I'm sure this is a stupid question, but what are the differences between a pre-11/86 steering rack and the later ones? Anything that would prevent using the later rack on an early car? I need a new rack, badly, and all I'm finding are later racks and E36's and so forth. Really not interested in swapping to an E36.

Why not e36 or e46 rack? There are only advantages with later racks, e30 factory rack is horrible.My transaction feedback on r3vlimited :):Clickety click -

Current rack leaks really badly, I've been refused an alignment by 3 shops so it's time to go. I'm one of those OEM types who wants to keep everything stock, I'm just weird like that.Comment
