Welding sway bar tabs with insert in housing Bad idea or really bad idea?

Is this not recommended or is it completely not possible without blowing up my newish inserts? I have shortened M3 strut housings with iX Konis. Had to remove the tabs to section the housings, too lazy to take everything apart to weld them back on. Been driving around with front sway bar not hooked up for a while now

your fine, people weld directly to normal struts all the time you just have to control the heat, but the worse thing youll encounter with yours is you may burn some of the oil between the housing and the insert (if you put any back in when you assembled them) so dont panic if it smokes from the inside a little
