Last night on a 60 mile drive home, my front right developed a really nice, loud, creaking sound from the front right. It was late and f'ing cold so I didn't want to check it out as soon as I got the car home but I did this morning. It seems I can lift on the front right fender, next to the shock tower, just enough to hear a "creak creak" sound come from what it sounds like somewhere in the shock tower. When I push down with all my force on the same spot (not actually on the fender, i'm not trying to bend it) I can hear the same sequence of "creak creak".
I live in Colorado and it has been unpleasantly cold here the last week or more, and snowy. I'm wondering if it's just the cold that is making something like the shock act up or the springs creak, I have no idea. I have around 1500 miles on the coils, I don't why they would be messing up now..? Anyone have experienced the same noise? When you're driving it is quite loud and worrisome.
