How to drop more then 2.5" on Ground Control?

Hey guys, I want to drop more then 2.5" but on ground control's website it says that's the lowest I can drop. What would I need to do for the front and rear? I'm a suspension nub.

    Thanks!

The more you lower your car on GC's the more suspension travel you lose.

So if I wanted to make my car really low how would I go about doing this? The black one on the right of your sig is perfect btw. What are the specs on those?

      Thank you

In order to go very low, you will have to shorten the factory strut housings, and run a short insert as well.

In the rear, you can run 4" springs with no adjusters as a simple solution, but this will leave you with a static height.

The one in his sig looks like the usual GC kit with no adjusters in the back and either sectioned front housings or uncut housings and race camber plates.

You will also need an 88-91... No coil over kit can cure the 4x4 rear end on an eta. It will get close, but never tuck like that black car in the sig. If someone knows of springs that can accomplish that, I would love to know as well. /threadjack

The late arch guys have to deal with the inner fender clearance. :) It sucks.

What part do I need from an ETA? and so Ground control + short housings are the way to go? I have a 84 318i

                Thanks

Well we are in the same boat my friend. When I said eta, I should of been more specific and said "any pre 1988 model." You don't need any parts from an eta. The higher wheel arches will give you one hell of a raked look when you try to drop it on coil overs. Only pre-88 models I have seen that are completely tucked in back either have cut springs, or air bags.

Nah man, late models are the ones cursed with the raked look if you lower the car evenly all around. Early models are the lucky ones with higher rear arches, so they can be lowered evenly all around - problem is just doing so in the rear as you mentioned.
                    All opinion though I guess!

Ay, but this is a thread about coilovers, so he doesn't have to lower evenly if he is just going for looks, and late model fenders look amazing. Just my 2 cents. It's all opinion like ya said.

Since we're on this topic already. Have you ever thought of piecing together your own set? I'm in the process of mines

I tuck plenty of tire on my 87 eta with coilovers at DD height.

Btw this guy is sort of right. Sectioned housings but I'm not using GC stuff.
