Any suggestions on how to remove the strut collar?

In the process of replacing both fronts, neither strut collar will move. Don't have a torch to heat it up. Soaked it with pbblaster.

Any other suggestions to get them to budge?

about an hour later, i wasn't so sure it was going to be a happy ending. the second one took a lot more force to move. i thought the first one got pretty torn up.

had to reattach to the top to the upper mount to hold on to it. and with the spring removed and out of the way, i went at it with a channel locks and a breaker bar. when it finally moved, the top of the collar was starting to tear away from the rest of it. would have sucked if it had torn all the way off. bent my breaker bar and channel locks in the process, but at least it came out.

not much dampening left in the left shock in this pic. :???:

A large plummer's wrench makes short work of collar nuts. LOL the wrench I use weighs at least 15lbs. Also works well on driveshaft locking nut.
