Is 1.9L the only option for '96 Z3?

I'm trying to get a steering rack from a parts place and they know the rack comes from a '96 Z3, but nothing else. A brief look at a few sites on the net indicates that 1.9L may have been the only Z3 in '96. Can anyone confirm this? I don't have the ETK thingy handy. Thanks!

    Correct. All '96 Z3s were 4-cyl

I paid about $279 shipped. Apparently it was the only Z3 rack left in southern california (as far as part yards go)

            Question:
I bought all new tie rods and boots for this rack. When I pulled the old left/driver's side boot off, there was a bunch of grease-like stuff. I pulled the right/pssgr side off and it was relatively dry. Is this normal?

Does the 1.9 z3 have the 2.7turn rack? My rack came from a Z3 2.8.

yes, it does. I dont think the 2.8rack is 2.7 turns.

i think that the 2.8 is 3 turns lock to lock like the 95M3 and that the 1.9 is 2.7 turns

C'mon guys, quit jacking my thread. Does anyone know if its normal for only the driver's side of the rack to have grease in the boot?

mine is def 2.7 turns and from a 2.8

Seems like there should be grease evenly distributed throughout the whole rack. Beats me.
