    E36 Tie Rods

I've heard something about E36 Tie Rods on an E30. What are the benefits? Bolt-on fit? I'll be using a Z3 rack

...or how about just the Z3 tie rod ends that go with the rack? They came with mine.

Yes, you can use e36 tie rods in an e30. I used the ones that came with my steering rack. They bolt in and operate like normal.

According to Zionsville, the e36 tie rods are shaped a little differently so that your tires are less likey to rub on the tie rod when you have really wide tires.

Is the wheelbase the same where you don't have to extend/retract the tie rods from the e36 to the e30? or is the wheelbase exactly the same where you don't need to do that...

I'll give the benefit of the doubt that you will have to adjust them. The e36 chassis has a wider track than the e30. Either way, an alignment will be absolutely necessary.
