Can't get my sway to stay put

I have the Ireland slider-type rear sway bar, and the damn thing won't stay put anymore. It always used to. But now you tighten it, and it just moves back to the end of the rod pretty much immediately. I always set it with the car weighted, and nothing else in the suspension has changed.

    What am I doing wrong?

I've seen this on more than one of the Ireland bars. The gap in the slider is out of spec.

In the past, I've fixed them by increasing the gap that the bolt cinches, which allows a tighter fit around the bar.

      How did you accomplish that?

I use a thin disk on a die grinder.
