    Insane positive castor?

This is my first european car, and I couldn't help but noticing that the castor in the front is ridiculous. Look at the strut housings compared to a japanese or american car. Is it because these cars are built as more top-speed cars and the designers were looking for high-speed stability?

ALSO would an '85 BMW 318i have trailing arm rear suspension?

Don't our cars have about 5* caster? I used to do alignments on Mercedes and many of them had over 10* caster!

High speed stability. Last thing you want is a car that gets squirelly at 180 kph.

            Keep it slideways!!

You can do that on cars that don't have front axles.

              Feels nice to me.

same here. natural steering return-to-center is nice too, as opposed to the synthetic torque-driven return on fwd cars.
