    Rear koni shocks question

I picked up a a set of Konis new, but from another person. The rear shocks are fully compressed out of the box. I can pull hem apart to fully extend, but when I compress them they don't rebound by themselves. Plus they seem like they should be firmer to compress.
There compress to adjust, so could it be I just have to do a couple steps to engage the valving or something.
I just don't think two new shocks could both be blown. I think I'm just missing something.

That's the process to adjust the damping. Don't forget to remove the rubber bump stop first or you won't engage the ring you see there.

Rear Koni's are a low pressure shock so being able to compress them by hand is normal. As long as there is resistance when you are compressing them, they are fine.

Getouth- they were fully compressed out of the box when you put them on? I just dont get how there gonna control the springs if there not rebounding back out on there own.

There's resistance, but they don't extend back out on there own. Been around bunch of different set ups before but never saw that.
If I adjust the dampening, what would be ideal for h&r race? (If anyone has an idea) I believe you can rotate it between one and five times for low softest to firmest setting.

I just installed a set 2 weeks ago, mine were same way, its fine.

Edit: Unless you had them redone the adjustment is not dampening but rebound.
