Last night I was installing my front suspension h&r race and Konis. I've had h&r race springs before on another e30. I cut a coil off the previous set to level the front.
So I was planning to do the same on this set. I don't know how I got mixed up, but I cut a coil front the bottom. Now that's were my question comes in, did I mess the spring up.
There wound differently on the bottom, and at a steeper angle.
The bottom is were the stiffer rate of the spring is, so not sure what this has done to the rate.
Also a coil off the bottom shortens the spring more then a coil off the top does.
One more thing, with a coil off the bottom the steep angle doesn't seat in the perch very well.
It will probably seat better with some weight on the car.
Shouldn't of did it late with bad shop light.
