Steering wheel stuck won't turn faulty lock?

Hey guys got some work done on the '85 325e recently so got the front lifted off the ground a little bit.
As I was fitting the tie rod boots I realized I had to pop a rod out further to fit however the steering wheel would move only under 3/4 of my whole 135lbs force.
Once I got the wheel to move clockwise an inch it would get stuck again, only to turn left so far and make metal on metal noises (as if the lock were tryin to engage).
I may have read on another forum that turning all the way to one way could lock something up?
Anyways I recently replaced the oil pan gasket so the rack had to come off spilling out all the power steering (atf) fluid.
With the car off I dumped a half a quart of valvoline atf back into the PS reservoir thinking maybe it needed fluid in it to push the rod. Nothing.
The wheel hub is stuck on and won't come off even when key is in on position.
Seen some people pull the saws out and start cutting to get to the lock, wondering if I have to do the same.
Thanks for reading all that, any input helps a lot this is my first bimmer.
    Here's to a good Monday.
