I'm installing my newly arrived Ireland 25mm front sway bar on my 90 325is. I have a question about the mounting brackets. The stock brackets have only 1 bolt hole. The rear of the stock mount fits in a tab in the subframe. the Ireland sway bar has 2 bolt holes. The rear one line up with a hole in the subframe, but the topside of the hole has the mounting dowels that align the subgframe to the frame on the car. Anyone have any tips on mounting this thing, or am I missing something? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the dowel you're talking about, I didn't see one on my car. The stepped part of the support goes on the tab portion of the old sway bar mount and the other side goes thru your subframe bolt.
Here's a pic:
Hopefully that helps.

Thanks for the compliments. Here's the final build to fit the IE bars with my S52. Had to modify the holes for the motor mounts after installing Turner's reinforce kit to to the mount area to get the extra 1/2" span on the motor mounts. Just needed to open it up a bit so I could get a socket in on the mount with the new width. I have extra 1/4" thick SS pads cut just in case the swaybar wants to hit my exhaust. Ran out of black paint but I kind of like the silver since if I start to leak something it will show up on the lighter color paint. Also, I'll be running 1/8" pads between this and the motor mounts with a pair of shouldered nuts - should be a solid setup I think.Last edited by LINUS; 08-01-2006, 02:29 PM.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.Comment
