E46 Steering Rack Swap Question

I have a 1984 325 that I’m swapping M30B35 into. While the engine is out I decided to put a quicker steering in along with other upgrades. I picked up a rack out of a 2001 e46 330i for almost nothing.

My question has to do with the fact that the new rack out of the e46 does not have the slots to secure lock washers like an e30 rack. (See picture)



Since it appears I can’t use the locking washers is there something else I need to do to make sure the tie rods don’t loosen while I’m driving? I searched other write ups on the e46 rack swaps and haven’t come across anyone dealing with this issue.

I just put a Z4 rack in my car and used red Loctite to attach brand new E30 inner/outer tie rods. Hopefully it holds up! The Z4 tie rod ends were held in with hopes and dreams as well.
