    KONI STR.T Rebuid

Did someone rebuilding KONI STR.T shock's??

I want to make home made coilover's (for 5x120 conversion), as base I want to use KONI STR.T shock's. But I don't know how it look's inside, and I don't want to broke good shock's.

Modyfication is very very simple. Spring's and nut's can be used from any coilover with nut's in diameter's 52mm. From shock's You need cut original spring disk, and cut coil on shock tube - That's all in basic.

But if someone want have competition coilover (and I want to have) shock must be few cm short, "shock rod" must be cut few cm too (for correct spring preload), and rebound valve must be revalving. <- to make this shock must be spin off to small piece's, and don't know how to do it without damage anything. And next question is, do KONI STR.T is only oil shock, or gas/oil ?? If ti is gas/oil shock, do it is high pressure or low pressure??.

I cant find any info about it in google. Only adress to KONI for rebuild. With bilstein I havn't this problem - in google or in youtube is a lot of info how to rebuild, revalving it etc.

This is last step to make my own coilover's, Iv'e got all pieces to make this conversion.

So R3vcommunity can you help me?? :)

    Cheers!!!

STR.Ts are basically factory replacement dampers and nowhere the quality of a "competition damper".

Modifying them, when you can buy off the shelf sport adjustables doesn't make sense.

Trust me - for me it have sense :) But I must take some theory how Koni look inside. Then I do coilover's in very good quality, in some 1/3 price of "competition coilover's from the shelf" :)

Only one manyfacturer do best competition suspension in europe - ohlins - that's real competition suspension. Rest is "only" good coilover's.
