Does rear toe-in mean new RTAB?

Went for an alignment and learned that I have 0.98 toe... How? Why? Is the car ruined? RTAB and Subframe swap?

Now inviting r3v members to the e30 bonfire. The one where the fire is composed of the e30s we've dumped thousands in for them to still be POS hoopties.

If it is equal on both sides, it is likely just worn out RTAB.

Are you talking 0.98" or 0.98º? I'm assuming the former, which is a lot.

It's not equal. They pulled me back in the shop because they say lots of mods and one of the guys had an 89.

The rear subframe has been done - up with the condor special. But if you've seen the gauges on alignment machines the rear left was the only one with perfect toe. (I just installed new tie rods. That's why the front was off so bad. ) the rear right was buried to the left. So it's off... bad. I'm wondering if it's more likely in the rtab or subframe? Could a bend in the axle cause this?

Bent trailing arm most likely if they aren't equal.

Yeah, that was the plan as to where to start. I hope I can swap it without dropping the subframe again.. :(

If that doesn't fix it. Classifieds will solve it.

Still suffering..... Thanks to Ky poor support for anything noy Chevy, I can't find a rta.

Does anyone think that the garagistic subframe correctors can adjust that out if its a uneven?

Weld-in camber and toe kits could take care of something like this. Will it be harder for you to drop the subframe and weld in the adjuster, or to locate a verified-unbent trailing arm?

Bent trailing arms are not unheard of in an e9, 2002, e21, e30, z3, etc. You are coming off rather overly-dramatic. You will be fine, owning/maintaining/modifying an older car takes money.

I've already had the subframe out to drop in codor 12mm riser and rtab. I may try to have those correctors installed and see. I agree with you though. Either way since it has been lowered the alignment will be toe in regardless. I worry because that would mean swapping trailing arms and bushings and just hoping for an alignment to be proper.

I realize it's a common issue, I've seen it over many threads. I just have a weird vibration at 80 ish now. Could this be related? Or may be the fault of tires?

I have spent lots of money already and plan to spend way more than I should. The plan is to have the chasis fully prepped and swap.

My e30 is also my daily. That's why I seem so rash about any imperfections. I commute about 40-50 miles daily, yes I do mourn those miles. But I wouldn't have them any other way.

Anyway, Ski, you have relieved me a little.
